Deborah. F. Sawyer

About

I am an unemployed *ahem* Independent Scholar, working in the fields of continental philosophy of religion and the empirical study of emerging Christianity.

I gained my doctorate in Religious Studies from Lancaster University, UK, in 2010, and am in the process of turning my thesis into a monograph.

My most recent publications include:

"Retrospective Speculative Philosophy: Looking for Traces of Žižek's New Communist Collective in Emerging Christian Praxis," Political Theology (forthcoming 2012)

"Between Deconstruction and Speculation: John D. Caputo and A/Theological Materialism," in B. Keith Putt, Clayton Crockett and Jeff Robbins, eds., The Future of Continental Philosophy of Religion (forthcoming 2012)

and

Intensities: Philosophy, Religion and the Affirmation of Life, co-edited with Steven Shakespeare (forthcoming with Ashgate, 2012).
